The Life of Ming Na in Show Business & in Poker

Ming Na is an American actress who was born on Coloane Island, Macau on November 20, 1963 to Chinese parents. Despite having come from Chinese descent, Ming Na was raised in the United States after her parents divorced. She was four years old when she and her mother landed in New York City. When she was nine years old, they moved to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. It was in Pittsburg where her family established a restaurant called Chinatown Inn and it was in Pittsburg where she graduated college. She took up Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama at the Carnegie Mellon University.

Her first break into show business was when she was included in the cast of the soap opera series "Mister Roger's Neighborhood." Because of such opportunity, Ming Na started to get numerous television and movie offers.

Despite having "Mister Roger's Neighborhood" as her biggest break, it is the television drama series "ER" that has really allowed Ming Na to be recognized internationally. In this series, she portrays the character of Doctor Jing-Mei "Deb" Chen.

In the movies, most of you probably recognize her as the one who portrayed the character of Chun-Li in "Street Fighter." Ming Na also appeared in such films as "The Single Guy," "The Joy Luck Club," "Teddy Bear's Picnic," "12 Bucks," "One Night Stand," "Hong Kong 97," "Terminal Voyage," "Bratz: The Movie," and "Rain Without Thunder."

Ming Na is also a voice actress, having provided the voice in the animated film "Mulan" and in other films, such as "A Ribbon of Dreams," "The Batman," "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within," "Aki's Dream," and "Spawn 3: Ultimate Battle."

This female celebrity poker player participated in the second season of the Hollywood Home Game, where she left her fellow poker players and the audience in awe with how excellent she played the game. One of the female celebrity poker players she competed with was Jennifer Tilly, an actress who is also known internationally as a professional poker player. But Tilly did not seem to be that lucky when she competed against this female celebrity poker player because Tilly only placed second while Ming Na placed first.
